Honda has finally come up with the pricing of its 2014 Accord Plug In Hybrid.  The car which is now one sale in New York and California is expected to start at a price of $40570 including destination charges which makes it much more expensive that competitors such as Chevrolet, Toyota and Ford. The hybrid also costs about $6150 more than the Accord Touring which begins at a price of $34420. However, despite this increased price, the company states that the Accord Hybrid boasts of a much better MPGe as compared to all of its competitors. The vehicle is said to deliver the equivalent of 115 mpg in pure electric mode.

The company states that the vehicle can travel as much as 13 miles in the EV mode and can be fully charged in less than 3 hours from any low charge point. The average mileage is expected to be 47 mpg for city driving and 46 mpg for highway driving. Thus, the car has quite a low EV range but an extremely strong gas mileage. The main cause of this low EV range is due to the poor 6.7 KWH battery pack installed in the Accord Hybrid as opposed to the 7.6 KWH packs and 16 KWH packs found in Ford and Volt respectively.
